Rafael Bejarano hospitalized after spill

Arcadia, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran jockey Rafael Bejarano suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured collarbone, in a racing accident Saturday at Santa Anita Park.
The 32-year-old rider was injured during Saturday's fourth race when his mount, Gameboy Luke, went down entering the stretch in a 6 1/2-furlong turf race.
Joe Ferrer, Bejarano's agent, said that the jockey has a broken collarbone, two broken scapulas and a broken rib. He is at Huntington Memorial Hospital where he will remain three to five days for observation.
Through Saturday, Bejarano has won 98 races from 413 mounts for $4,922,434.
