Fresno State (1-1) at No. 6 Washington (2-0), Saturday 9:30 p.m. (Pac-12 Network)
Line: Washington by 33.
Series Record: Washington leads 2-1.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
It's the final nonconference warmup for Washington before jumping into Pac-12 play next week at Colorado. The Bulldogs are concluding a brutal two-week stretch against two of the national semifinalists from last season, having played at Alabama last week before their trip to Seattle. Like the Huskies, Fresno State will start Mountain West play next week against Nevada.
Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford vs. Washington coach Chris Petersen. A year ago, Tedford served as an offensive consultant on the Huskies staff before taking the job at Fresno State. He knows the Huskies' offensive system and its personnel. Washington is superior from a talent standpoint, but the knowledge Tedford has could cause Petersen to throw in a few wrinkles.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Fresno State: LB Jeffrey Allison. The sophomore had a breakout performance last week against Alabama with a career-high 14 tackles and his first career sack. Eight of his tackles came in the first quarter and he had 11 in the first half. Allison had 21 tackles total as a freshman.
Washington: RB/WR Salvon Ahmed. Washington is trying to get its young players as many reps as possible before the start of conference play. The Huskies know they have something special in Ahmed, but are still figuring out how best to use the speedster. Ahmed had 54 yards on nine carries and a touchdown against Montana.
