Keselowski replaces Stremme for final three races

Penske Racing announced Monday that Brad Keselowski will replace David Stremme in the No.12 Dodge for the final three Sprint Cup races of the year, beginning this weekend at Texas.

Two months ago, Penske named Keselowski the full-time driver of the No.12 car for the 2010 Sprint Cup campaign. The 25-year-old driver already has run a limited Cup schedule this year with Hendrick Motorsports and Phoenix Racing. He is currently third in Nationwide Series points, driving the No.88 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, which is co-owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Rick Hendrick.

"Penske Racing wants to give Brad an opportunity to work with the team and get to know the race car as we prepare for the 2010 season," team owner Roger Penske said in a statement. "These three races will provide a good base for both Brad and the team as we head into next year. Penske Racing also thanks David Stremme for his contributions to the team this year. We wish David the very best moving forward."

Penske signs Keselowski

Brad Keselowski, who just last year was referred to by Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick as “the future of our company,” has a new home.

As the Observer and its racing Web site, ThatsRacin.com, first reported on Aug. 21, Penske Racing confirmed Tuesday it has signed Keselowski to drive its No. 12 Dodge in the Sprint Cup Series beginning in the 2010 season.

Although terms of the deal were not disclosed in the statement announcing his hiring, Penske vice president Jonathan Gibson told the Observer Tuesday night Keselowski had signed a “multi-year deal.”

BRISTOL, Tenn. - Brad Keselowski has an agreement in principle to drive in the Sprint Cup Series next season with Penske Racing, the Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned.

No contract has been signed, which means the deal could still not come to fruition, but multiple sources on Friday confirmed that Keselowski appeared headed to Penske’s No. 12 Dodges next season.

David Stremme currently drives the No. 12 as a teammate to Kurt Busch and Sam Hornish Jr.

Busch looking to win fourth straight at Texas

Busch has won the last three Nationwide races at Texas. In April, he led a track-record 178 of 200 laps. Busch also became the first driver to win from the pole in 17 races there.

If Busch wins Saturday's event, he will join Brendan Gaughan as the only drivers who have won four in a row at Texas. Gaughan won four consecutive Truck Series races there from 2002-03. Gaughan is a Nationwide rookie this year.

Busch also would tie Kevin Harvick for most Nationwide victories at Texas.

Martin edged Greg Biffle to win the pole Friday for tonight's Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, giving him a head up on his competition to secure a spot in the Chase with three races remaining to set the 12-driver field.
