HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Tony Stewart said he has nothing against Dale Earnhardt Jr. despite some not-too-kind characterizations after a wreck in last Sunday’s race at Phoenix.

"Everybody knows when we are in the heat of the moment, it doesn’t matter who it was. I would have said the same thing," Stewart said Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“It was being upset because we are running for all the points we can get right now and we took a hit in the points last week because of that incident. It didn’t matter who it was.”

Earnhardt spun on Lap 171, causing several drivers to wreck, including Stewart. Stewart then let loose with, "Dale Jr., that no-talent (expletive)" over his radio.
