Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Rick Mears, NASCAR driver Ryan Newman and top National Hot Rod Association competitor Doug Herbert will join about 50 other racing greats signing autographs at the 21st annual Stocks for Tots benefit on Dec. 8.

Don Miller, Ray Evernham, Ned Jarrett, Larry McReynolds and Sam Hornish Jr. are among other motorsports notables who will sign for fans at the event, which will be 4:30-9 p.m. at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville.

Net proceeds benefit the nonprofit SCAN Child & Parenting Centers of Iredell County. SCAN stands for Stop Child Abuse Now.

Since its first fundraiser in 1989, Stocks for Tots has raised more than $850,000 and distributed nearly 50,000 Christmas toys to area children in need. General admission wristbands are available for $10 plus a new, unwrapped toy.

Tickets will be sold first-come at 9 a.m. Dec. 8 at the N.C. Auto Racing Hall of Fame, 119 Knob Hill Road, in Lakeside Business Park, Interstate 77 Exit 36. Premium wristband numbers are available through Dec. 7; call 704-663-5331. For more details, visit www.stocksfortots.com.
