DSM doubles team wins title
The Triangle went 1-1 in the NCHSAA 1-A tennis championships Saturday at the Cary Tennis Center.
Teresa Pincus and Laura Outlaw of Durham Science & Math rallied to defeat Ellie Case and Jordan Gwyn of Mount Airy 6-7, 7-5, 6-3. But Raleigh Charter's Lori Wang couldn't overcome a nervous start and a determined opponent in her 6-1, 6-4 loss to East Surry's Megan Shelton.
After a tough first-set loss, Pincus and Outlaw were told to do one thing: get aggressive. They took their coach's advice to heart to claim their first state doubles championship.
