Monta Ellis played all 48 minutes and carried Golden State with 34 points, eight assists and six steals, as the Warriors topped the Trail Blazers, 108-94, despite playing just eight players.

"The ball movement was good, open court was good and we just played off the hot hand of Monta," Warriors head coach Don Nelson said. "And I think he had a bigger impact on the defensive end."

Anthony Morrow also played the entire contest and netted 23 points for the short-handed Warriors, who were coming off a 1-4 road trip. Corey Maggette scored 13, and Stephen Curry notched 12 points and eight helpers in the win.

Rudy Fernandez paced Portland with 19 points, while Brandon Roy ended with 17 in the club's ninth straight loss at Oracle Arena. Greg Oden chipped in 16 points and six rebounds in the club's second setback in three games.

Portland shot 13-for-19 in the first quarter to jump out to a 37-29 lead, but Golden State heightened the defensive intensity in the second frame and used a 17-2 run in the latter stages to go into the locker room ahead, 56-52.

The Warriors rode that momentum in the third quarter and built an 83-75 lead heading to the fourth, backed by nine points from Morrow.

It was still an eight-point game, 91-83, with 7 1/2 minutes to play. Newcomer Vladimir Radmanovic hit a 10-footer and Ellis converted a three-point play to extend Golden State's margin.

Roy then missed a three-pointer and the Blazers turned it over on consecutive possessions before Ellis' bucket with 5:17 left made it 98-83.

The lead was never threatened down the stretch.

"Everything that we talked about doing, we didn't do," Blazers head coach Nate McMillan said. "In the first quarter, we did things that we were supposed to do, but we got out of our rhythm."
