Vince Carter and the Orlando Magic shoot for their fifth straight win Sunday afternoon when they visit the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre.

Carter, who played his first six NBA seasons as the franchise player in Toronto, finished with 26 points, six rebounds and six assists on Friday, as the Magic pulled out an 83-78 victory over Boston in a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Magic won that series in seven games on their way to the NBA Finals, and took the first meeting between the clubs this season thanks to their defense. While Orlando shot just 41.4 percent -- including a 10-of-29 mark from Carter -- the Magic held Boston to 34.5 percent.

"Coach [Stan Van Gundy] is always telling us that when things aren't dropping on the offensive end, we got to play defense," Magic forward Rashard Lewis said. "We did a really good job on the defensive end tonight. The defense kept us in the game."

Lewis added 16 points and 10 boards for Orlando. Dwight Howard pulled down 15 rebounds and scored nine in the victory, while Mickael Pietrus ended with 14 points.

The Magic, who are 4-2 on the road this season, sit just one-half game behind Atlanta for the Southeast Division lead.

The Raptors, meanwhile, won the opener of a three-game homestand on Friday when Chris Bosh scored a team-high 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, as Toronto held on for a 120-113 win over the Miami Heat.

Andrea Bargnani donated 24 points and 10 boards, while Hedo Turkoglu went for 19 points and eight assists for the Raptors, who snapped a three-game slide. Jarrett Jack chipped in with 17 points, including a pair of key three-pointers late in the fourth quarter. Jose Calderon had 10 assists to go along with five points.

"I knew it was going to turn around," Jack said about his recent poor shooting. "I've always been a product of hard work. I was in the gym late last night taking shots. They (coaches) made me take about 250 of them. I knew it was going to pay off sooner or later."

The Magic have won two of their last three meetings with the Raptors, including a 125-116 win in Orlando on Nov. 1. Orlando has also won two consecutive games at Air Canada Centre but the Raptors are an impressive 4-1 as the host on the season.
