Last season, the Blue Devils closed the season 4-8 (1-5 ACC) and lost five of its last six. The lone victory during that stretch was a 28-27win over North Carolina.
Duke’s off week comes between road games at Virginia Tech and Army.

Duke’s 2017 opponents combined to go 94-61 last season, and 10 of the 11 FBS teams Duke play were all in a bowl game last year.
Duke plays a consecutive stretch against Florida State, Pitt and 2016 Coastal winner Virginia Tech, all who finished in the top 4 of their divisions last season.
Sept. 23 Duke at North Carolina
This game comes around quickly this year, the earliest the teams have played in the 103-year history of the series. Last season, Duke defeated the Tar Heels as young quarterback Daniel Jones showed up his UNC counterpart Mitch Trubisky, who is headed to the NFL Draft this year.
Duke will have a chance to win two straight against UNC for the first time since 2013.
Oct. 14 Florida State at Duke
FSU ended last season on a five-game winning streak and finished below Louisville and eventual national champion Clemson. This should be a good challenge for Duke, a team the Blue Devils didn’t meet last year.
Oct. 28 Duke at Virginia Tech
Duke played a close game with the eventual Coastal winner last season, and the matchup gets tougher this year as the Blue Devils make the trip to Blacksburg.
