N.C. State makes its first road trip of the season on Saturday (@South Florida, 3:30 p.m., CBS Sports Network, Channel, No. 315 on Time Warner) with recent history working against it.
The Wolfpack has struggled on the road since the start of the 2009 season. The Pack has the fewest road wins in the ACC (six) over the previous five seasons and the second-most losses (18).
Wake Forest, if you’re wondering, has more losses (22) and the same number of wins.
I have a chart in Saturday’s paper with the road record of each of the 11 ACC teams who have been in the league since 2009.
To summarize that story before it goes to print, N.C. State has turned the ball over more on the road, been penalized more and scored fewer points.
Here are four charts didn’t make the paper (note: these are for regular-season games only and does not include neutral site games), plus a bonus chart which has State’s record by kickoff time.
|Before 1 p.m.||6-5||3-8|
|3 to 4 p.m.||7-4||2-9|
|6 to 7:30 p.m.||11-2||1-1|
