You won’t find a better pair of freshmen in the ACC than Florida State wing forwards Dwayne Bacon and Malik Beasley, both of whom enter Monday night with identical scoring averages of 17.2 points per game. The Seminoles’ strength is clearly on the perimeter though they’re among the top 35 defensive rebounding teams in the country, according to kenpom.com. They also don’t generate a lot of points off of 3-pointers, which is good news for the Tar Heels, whose perimeter defense has been shaky at times this season. UNC’s trips to Florida State always seem to inspire some drama – whether in a victory on a last-second shot (2011, 2009) or with a historic blowout loss (2012). In their last trip to Tallahassee, in 2014, the Tar Heels overcame a 14-point deficit to win.
