Former North Carolina golfer Casey Grice stands in a tie for 13th place after the fourth round of the Final Stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament. Another former Tar Heel, Katherine Perry, is also participating and is tied for 44th place with one round left to play.
The five-day, 90-hole event is being played at LPGA International’s Jones and Hill Courses. After leading the first day and sharing the lead the second day, Grice, playing the Hills Course on Saturday, carded four birdies and four bogeys en route to an even par 72 and a 7-under 281 total.
Ha Na Jang grabbed the third-round lead after firing a 4-under 68 for an 15-under 273 total.
The final round will be played Sunday. The top 20 finishers earn category 12 status on the LPGA priority list, with those finishing 21st to 45th picking up category 17 status.

Mount Olive: Akiharu Kitagawa recorded the best individual finish in school history and Mount Olive earned a top 20 finish for the second straight year as the Trojans finished 19th out of 32 teams at the 2014 NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country National Championship Saturday at Louisville, Ky. Kitagawa finished 41st out of 245 runners, beating the previous best Trojan finish by 29 places.
Duke: No. 21 Duke was unable to find its rhythm, falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-17) to No. 23 Hawaii in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Championship late Friday at the University of Washington’s Alaska Airlines Arena. After making the program’s 19th NCAA Tournament, the Blue Devils conclude the season with a 22-8 overall record.
Junior outside hitter Emily Sklar led Duke with 11 kills and six digs. Nikki Taylor and Olivia Magill put down 10 kills each to pace Hawaii.
Duke: The men’s lacrosse coaching staff will host its final lacrosse coaching clinic of the year 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday The clinic will be held in the Murray Team Room. The free clinic covers a full range of topics and features interaction with the Duke lacrosse coaching staff, including 30 minutes after the end of the online viewing for a great question and answer period.
