Four North Carolina men’s soccer players, including MAC Hermann Trophy finalist Andy Craven, were named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Team on Tuesday, as announced by Commissioner John Swofford.
Graduate Rob Lovejoy and junior Jonathan Campbell claimed their third career league academic accolade, while Craven and freshman Alan Winn were named to the academic team for the first time.
Craven and Lovejoy both completed their collegiate careers this past fall, graduated from Carolina in December and were drafted in the MLS SuperDraft last month.
Duke: Goalie Kelsey Duryea is ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. She helped Duke to a pair of wins over Richmond (17-4) and Navy (10-3) last weekend, posting a season-high nine saves against 20 shots on Sunday in the victory over the Navy.

Saint Augustine’s: Anthony Gaskins is CIAA Player of the Week after averaging 22 points in leading the Falcons to a 2-1 record this past week. Teammate Quincy January is Rookie of the Week, after averaging 12.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.
Saint Augustine’s: Times have been moved up for Wednesday’s games at Livingstone. The women’s game will be played at 2 p.m. instead of 5:30 p.m. The men’s game will be played at 4 p.m. at Trent Gym.
Track and field
N.C. State: Joanna Thompson and Erika Kemp have picked up individual All-Academic honors, while both the men and women’s team have earned All-Academic team awards as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2014 cross country season.
East Carolina: Brad Davis, who has played a key role guiding prolific offenses at Portland State, and most recently James Madison, has been named run game coordinator and offensive line coach at East Carolina.
Davis served as the Dukes’ co-offensive coordinator and line coach during 2014.
Elon: Catcher and designated hitter Chris King is CAA Player of the Week after helping the team to a three-game sweep of Penn State.
Elon: Stephanie Asher is Lacrosse Rookie of the Week in the Colonial Athletic Association after averaging 3.6 goals per game.
N.C. State: Michael Boykin is ACC Wrestler of the Week for his upset of Pitt’s Nick Bonaccorsi in the Wolfpack’s 27-12 upset win over the No. 14 Panthers.
