Following stellar performances in a 3-0 week for the Blue Devils, Duke’s Grayson Allen and Brandon Ingram were named ACC Player of the Week and ACC Rookie of the Week, respectively, on Monday by a panel of media who cover the league.
The awards mark the second of the season for both Allen and Ingram.
Allen was a catalyst for Duke in wins over Elon, Long Beach State and Boston College, averaging team highs of 22.3 points and 5.3 assists while sharing the team lead with an average of 2.0 steals per game. He added 5.3 rebounds per game, shot .526 from the floor and was 24-of-27 (.889) from the free-throw line.
Allen played 39 minutes in Saturday’s win at Boston College in Duke’s ACC opener, narrowly missing a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. He shared game-high honors with nine boards and five assists, while once again tying his career high with three steals. It was an efficient evening for Allen, who was 5-of-8 (.625) from the floor and 7-of-8 from the line.
