Pat Ferguson and Marcus Jones combined for three home runs and six RBIs to lead N.C. State to an 8-1 baseball victory over Duke Saturday at Doak Field and even the three-game ACC series at one game each.Both Ferguson and Jones went 2-for-4. Ferguson contributed two of N.C. State's four home runs, and Jones had four RBIs for the Pack (22-11, 9-7 ACC). The four home runs broke a streak of nine consecutive games in which Duke pitchers had held opponents without a home run and were the most allowed in a single game all season by the Blue Devils (23-11, 5-11).N.C. State starter Eric Surkamp (3-2) held Duke to one run on seven hits over six complete innings.ALSO SATURDAYCAROLINA TAKES TWO FROM TIGERS: Second baseman Kyle Seager homered twice and drove in a career-best four runs to lead No. 4 North Carolina to a 4-3 win and its first-ever three-game series victory at Clemson.The Tar Heels (28-7, 12-4 ACC) got five scoreless innings from their bullpen and overcame three errors to hold on for the one-run victory.Earlier, the Heels completed a suspended game against the Tigers (18-16, 6-11) with an 8-2 win.EAST CAROLINA 4, MARSHALL 3: Jamie Ray's pinch-hit double in the bottom of the ninth scored Trent Whitehead from second to give host East Carolina (25-9, 7-4 C-USA) a win over Marshall (14-18-1, 4-6-1).The Pirates picked up their third consecutive C-USA series win.With the score tied at three and runners on first and second, Ray took a slider from Arik Sikula and doubled off the left-field wall for his fourth game-winning RBI of the season.VIRGINIA TECH 13, WAKE FOREST 4: Virginia Tech (15-20, 3-14 ACC) pounded out 16 hits to cruise past Wake Forest (12-21, 5-11) and clinch the weekend series against the host Deacons.The Deacons fell victim to the big inning for the second time in as many days. On Friday, Virginia Tech used a five-run fifth to take control of the game. On Saturday, the Hokies scored four in the third and seven more in the eighth to earn the win.CAMPBELL 8, JACKSONVILLE 4: Brandon Scott pitched 4 1/3 innings of shutout baseball and also drove in three runs to lead host Campbell (14-22, 8-13 A-Sun) past Jacksonville (20-15, 11-10).Scott (2-2), a senior from Robersonville,went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. He picked up his second victory of the season.
