N.C. State football coach Tom O'Brien has secured commitments from two defensive tackles from outside North Carolina.
O'Brien landed one of Maryland's top prospects in Raynard Randolph of Gwynn Park High.
Deion Roberson, who suffered a season-ending ankle dislocation in the opening game of his senior season at Tucker (Ga.) High, also chose N.C. State.
Randolph, who is 6 feet 2 and 320 pounds, also considered Penn State, Michigan State, Illinois, Louisville and Maryland, according to Gwynn Park defensive coordinator Frederick Ford.
Randolph, a four-year varsity starter, is rated as the 16th-best prospect in Maryland by rivals.com.
Tucker coach Franklin Stephens said Roberson received eight to 10 scholarship offers based on his play during a strong junior year. Stephens said the schools, which included N.C. State, Louisville, West Virginia, East Carolina, Michigan State and Maryland, did not withdraw their offers despite the injury.
Roberson is 6 feet 3 and 260 pounds.
"Deion is that rare kid you can't find," Stephens said. "He's got size and speed."
