Women's NIT: N.C. State at Michigan State

WHEN: 7 p.m. today WHERE: East Lansing, Mich. RADIO: WKNC-88.1

RECORDS: N.C. State 21-12, Michigan State 22-13

WHAT TO WATCH

The Wolfpack faces the former team of Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie. Michigan State spent much of the season ranked, but reputation couldn't help the Spartans as the losses piled up. N.C. State's offense is slightly more productive, and junior guard Shayla Fields' WNIT performance is a big reason the Pack is still playing.

KEY PLAYERS

Khadijah Whittington is a WNBA scout's dream with her skills and heart. The senior was the only ACC player to average a double-double. Kalisha Keane scored 15 points to lead the Spartans over Michigan in their Sunday WNIT meeting.

Who would have thought that N.C. State would be the last ACC women's team standing in tournament play? For the young Wolfpack women, each game now will help for next season, when they won't have Whittington's fire. The winner of this game goes to the final against either Colorado or Marquette.
