Man killed in Selma car acccident

A man died after his car ran off the road in Selma just before noon Sunday, police said.

The single-car accident happened on Graham Street, near the intersection with Crocker Street. No one else was injured, police said, and the accident remains under investigation.

Iatria Day Spa to close last three locations

After a decade in business, Iatria Day Spa will close its three remaining locations.

Company chairwoman Erika Mangrum was not immediately available for comment, but did release a statement saying, "Unfortunately we are not able to overcome the combination of the current economy and the lack of available capital."

The day spa chain closed its downtown Raleigh location last year, after determining there was not enough business to support the store. There are three remaining Iatria stores, two in Raleigh and one in Cary. Information was not immediately available about when those stores will close.

Man faces charges of molestation

A Durham man remained jailed Sunday, charged with molesting three girls between February and June, according to court records.

Lionell A. Mays Jr., 35, of 1702 E. Main St. remained in the Durham County jail in lieu of $140,000 bail Sunday, charged with two counts of statutory rape, one count of attempted first-degree sex offense and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, according to court records.

The alleged incidents involved three girls all age 13 or under.
