Beckham sure to return to AC Milan

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani says that David Beckham's return to the club on loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy in January is nearly "100 percent" certain.

Beckham has long been linked with a second loan spell at AC Milan, after performing well in a six-month stay with the Serie A side last season.

"A great player will arrive, his first name is David, his last name Beckham," Galliani was quoted as saying by the ANSA news agency on Monday. Galliani made the remarks to Sky Italia.

"Overall, these players are talented professionals who are generous both on and off the golf course, not to mention fun to be around," Norman said in a statement.

The issue of players has been something of a problem for Norman, starting with himself. Since the field was announced in October, Norman had to replace three players in the field, including himself. Norman had shoulder surgery and will miss his own charity tournament.

That's how long Reavie had to wait Thursday to complete his opening round in the Wyndham Championship, as storms rolled into the area and play was suspended. Not that he was complaining very much. The tap-in for par gave him a 6-under-par 64 and a share of the lead with Brandt Snedeker and Ryan Moore.

Birdies put Gay in lead

Brian Gay's run of five straight birdies lifted him past a revived Todd Hamilton after two rounds of the Verizon Heritage on Friday in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Gay made six birdies on the front nine, including five in a row from the fourth through ninth holes to help him to a 66 and, at 9-under par, a one-stroke lead over former British Open champion Hamilton.

First-round leader Alex Cejka followed his 64 with an even-par 71 and was tied at 7 under with two-time U.S. Open champion Lee Janzen.

Woods' late birdie wins it

Challenged by Hunter Mahan's record-tying 62 at Congressional, Woods plotted his way along the back nine and delivered the decisive birdie with a 20-foot putt on the 16th green, closing with a 3-under 67 for a one-shot victory.
