Leesville Road junior defensive lineman Jason Thompson stole the show, recording an interception and a recovering a fumble for a touchdown in a 34-12 victory over Durham Jordan.
Thompson picked off a Jordan pass on the Falcons’ first possession to set the tone for the game.
Pride quarterback Clay Vick passed for 214 yards and three touchdowns. Elisiah Richardson, Khamari Alexander and Mike Dehaney rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns.
Mike Hobgood made his coaching debut at Leesville Friday after spending nine years at South Granville.
“It’s just a great program,” Hobgood said. “They’re used to winning. We probably don’t have as many Division I guys as they have had in the past five years, but there are some really good players here.
“We’re going to try to work hard and keep building on that. There are a lot of really good players. There is a lot to work with”
