The Orange High defense held Northern to 22 yards total offense and fullback Michael Bolden rushed for two touchdowns as Orange blanked the Knights 18-0. It's the third straight year Orange has started 2-0.
Northern tried three different quarterbacks against the powerful Orange defensive front, but none of them made a difference. The Panthers made six sacks and held Northern to four first downs.
The Knights' Atavion Oliver blocked two punts, both of which set up Northern for drives in the Orange red zone. Yet both of them ended with 3-and-outs.
After a scoreless first quarter, Orange scored on its initial drive of the second quarter when Bolden barged into the end zone from three yards out with 6:44 remaining in the first half.
Following another Northern punt, Orange scored on a 5-play, 35-yard drive where Bolden rammed the ball in from one yard out to give the Panthers a 12-0 lead.
The Panthers' longest play from scrimmage with 9:34 remaining in the fourth quarter, when quarterback Garrett Cloer threw to slotback Eryk Brandon-Dean for a 39-yard touchdown.
It's Orange's second straight win over Northern. The Panthers defeated the Knights 42-15 last year in Hillsborough, their first win over Northern since 1968.
