The N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association’s volleyball playoffs begin Saturday with the first round. The second round is Tuesday and the semifinals and finals, both at North Raleigh Christian, are next Friday and Saturday.
Defending state champ North Raleigh Christian earned the top seed in 3A while Kerr-Vance Academy is No. 1 in 1A.

TISAC GIRLS GOLF
Led by Holly McCann’s 70, Ravenscroft shot a 226 to win the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference title on Wednesday to top North Raleigh Christian (251).
McCann was also the player of the year. Deborah Spair was runner-up in the tournament with a 77 while NRCA’s Channing Hensley shot a 78.
Durham Academy (256) and Cary Academy (260) also qualified for next week’s NCISAA state championships at The Country Club of Whispering Pines (Monday-Tuesday).
Ravenscroft, Cary Academy and Cary Christian advanced to the NCISAA quarterfinals with wins on Tuesday.
Ravenscroft (6-11), seeded seventh, travels to Charlotte’s Providence Day School, the second seed, on Saturday while sixth-seeded Cary Christian (9-5) will go to third-seeded Charlotte Country Day.
After a first-round bye, Durham Academy (11-7) hosts Cary Academy (14-5) on Friday.
Friday’s second-round games will be hosted by the same sites as Saturday’s quarterfinals.
Wayne Country Day (16-2), the top seed in 1A, will host Friday and Saturday as well as fourth-seeded Cape Fear Christian (17-2) and second-seeded Greenfield School (15-2-1).
Lee Christian (14-6), the five-seed, plays Oakwood School (7-9-1) the 12-seed, at CFCA on Friday while seven-seed Neuse Christian (13-6-1) and 10-seed Kerr-Vance (10-8) play at Greenfield School.
In 2A, six-seed St. David’s (14-4) played conference foe O’Neal School (13-2), the 11-seed, at Carolina Day in Asheville on Thursday night.
North Raleigh Christian (15-3), the five-seed, visits four-seed Christ School near Asheville on Saturday.
Top-seeded 1A Wayne Country Day (11-1) played in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Seventh-seeded Greenfield School (4-11) visits second-seeded Kerr-Vance (7-2) Friday.
In 2A, powerhouse St. David’s (13-3) opens as the top seed Friday against Westchester Country Day School. No. 4 Rocky Mount Academy (11-5) hosts Caldwell Academy on Saturday while seventh-seeded Cary Christian School (12-4) visited Wilmington’s Cape Fear Academy on Thursday.
In 3A, nine-seed Ravenscroft (8-10) visits Charlotte Country Day on Saturday while three-seed Durham Academy (17-4) hosts Charlotte’s Providence Day School and two-seed Cary Academy (18-1) hosts 10-seed North Raleigh Christian Academy (9-6).
