Hillsborough Orange High School students Logan Jennings (above, at left) and Alden Patterson (at right) led the field at the second annual Clayton High School Bass Club Tournament on Buckhorn Lake near Wilson on Oct. 31. The tournament included teams from Clayton, North Johnston, Corinth Holders, Wilson Hunt, Orange among others. Jennings and Patterson brought home a five-fish limit catch of 17.39 pounds using multiple lipless crank bait lures. Patterson also brought home the top lunker (largest single fish) award with a 6.30 bass. The Clayton High duo of Ethan Howard and Mason Medlin finished second with a catch of 15.88 pounds. Defending event champions Tyler Little and Chase Crocker of North Johnston finished third with 12.78 pounds.
