NC Coaches Association All-Star games set for this week

The N.C. Coaches Association’s East-West All-Star games start this week in Greensboro. The boys and girls basketball games will be played at the Greensboro Coliseum on Monday, the boys and girls soccer games are at UNC-Greensboro on Tuesday and the football game is Wednesday at Grimsley High School.

There have been some changes to the rosters in the past few weeks, but the ones posted above are the most accurate.

Here’s who to watch from our area in each game:

Boys basketball: Broughton’s Cameron Gottfried, Apex’s T.J. Evans, Bunn’s Deshawn High, Northern Durham’s Ricky Council, Millbrook’s Jake Wilson and Carlee Clemons, Lee County’s Dewaun McEachin and Millbrook coach Scott McInness.

Girls basketball: Chapel Hill’s Jamella Smith and Catherine Romaine, Southeast Raleigh’s Tiffany McCarter, East Wake coach Toni Vick and East Chapel Hill coach Michelle Wood.

Boys soccer: Leesville Road’s Chris Zappia, Green Hope’s Zach Compton, Sanderson’s Ryan Tuner, Millbrook’s Salvador Hernandez, Sanderson’s Michael Clemmons, Holly Springs’ John McNulty, Fuquay-Varina’s Dean Rutherford, Apex’s Robert Smith, Jordan’s Jake Dressman and Millbrook coach Matt Edwards.

Girls soccer: Chapel Hill’s Megan Dell, Carrboro’s Emma Houser, Millbrook’s Colleen Markey, North Johnston’s Kaycie Evans, Millbrook’s Cailyn Boch.

Football: Panther Creek’s Matt Powell, Fuquay-Varina’s Tyler Williams, Leesville Road’s Malcolm Hitchcock, Clayton’s Nicklas Christiansen, Western Harnett’s Laron Gilchrist, Southeast Raleigh’s David Onyiego, East Chapel Hill’s Christopher Alston, Leesville Road’s Chris Pendergraft, Wake Forest’s Tyler Newhouse.
