Corinth Holders holds on for 44-41 upset win against Cleveland in Friday’s game of the week.
Game of the week: Corinth Holders held Cleveland at the 1 in the closing seconds and claimed a victory when the Rams missed a 40-yard field-goal attempt on the final play.
Player of the week: Dominic Ford of Broughton passed for 398 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 117 yards and another score in a 44-37 overtime loss to Wakefield. Ford missed the first four games of the season with a broken collarbone and had been a wide receiver in recent games. Broughton trailed 34-14 at the half. Kanden Rogers had nine catches for 193 yards.
Defenders: Chapel Hill shut out Cardinal Gibbons 14-0 in a Big Eight 3A game and held the Crusaders to 103 total yards.
Defensive battle: Millbrook 17, Heritage 14. The Cap Eight 4A game was exactly as billed: a tough defensive battle that was decided late. Matthew Baker had 234 rushing yards in the loss.
No running allowed: Defense saved Garner in a 28-6 win against Knightdale as it held the Knights to 6 yards on 23 rushing attempts. Brodie West rallied the Trojans by completing 12 of 19 passes for 216 yards.

Johnny Frasier, Princeton: Ran the ball 11 times for 249 yards and four touchdowns, including on a 94-yard run, in a 67-30 victory over North Duplin.
