Wake Forest, Orange and Wakefield keep the top of the N&O rankings

Undefeated Wake Forest, Orange and Wakefield lead The News & Observer high school football rankings for the second straight week. Wake Forest will play Friday night at Wakefield.

Wake Forest trailed early against No. 9 Millbrook but claimed the Cap Eight 4A victory.

Orange, which has four shutouts, pounded Northern Vance, but Wakefield had to rally in the second half for a 34-21 win against Enloe.

Corinth Holders, which nipped Franklinton 33-32 by stopping a two-point conversion attempt, moves into the No. 14 position, and Franklinton makes an appearance despite the loss.

Franklinton will face another test Friday against 5-1 South Granville, which defeated East Wake 45-33 last week.
