Greater Neuse River 4A volleyball tournament, 2013

The Greater Neuse River 4A Conference volleyball tournament begins Saturday at West Johnston High School. Clayton and Garner tied for the regular-season conference championship. Clayton won the drawing to determine the No. 1 seed for the tournament.

If Clayton and Garner meet in the finals, the winner will be the league’s No. 1 state playoff seed. If only one of those two teams makes the finals, that team gets the No. 1 seed. If they both fail to make the finals, they will play at seeding game for the No. 1 seed at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the site of the championship match.

(4) East Wake def. (5) Knightdale

(2) Garner def. (7) West Johnston

(6) Harnett Central def. (3) Southeast Raleigh

Monday, Oct. 14 semifinals at Clayton High

1-Clayton def. 4-East Wake

2-Garner def. 6-Harnett Central

Wednesday, Oct. 16 finals at Clayton High

2-Garner def. 1-Clayton
