After a weekend full of dual tournaments, three teams joined The News & Observer wrestling rankings for the greater Triangle area. Much has changed since before the winter break, although the top three teams are still the same.
No. 1 Holly Springs went 5-0 in its fourth annual MyComputerCareer.com Hawk Duals, and No. 3 Cary went 5-0 at the West Stanly Duals. No. 2 Chapel Hill has not competed in a dual match since the break.
Sanderson went 5-0 in its Sanderson Duals, edging runner-up and No. 5 West Johnston. West Johnston’s three losses have come to Holly Springs and Sanderson (twice).
Millbrook jumps up seven spots after knocking off previous No. 6 Wake Forest in conference action Friday before going 5-0 in the Cap Eight-Greater Neuse Challenge. Riverside, which has not wrestled in a dual match since the break, moved up four spots.
Orange fell four spots after a 41-40 loss to Swansboro.
