Injuries are a part of wrestling – the more you can avoid them the better the season goes – but it sure does make figuring out The News & Observer wrestling rankings for the greater Triangle area a difficult task.

Before the winter break, Chapel Hill was undefeated in dual-team matches – with quality wins against Panther Creek and Northwood – and winning tournaments. But with injuries piling up, the Tigers lost three dual-team matches last weekend.

The Tigers dropped 11 spots in this week’s rankings to No. 13. At the same weekend dual tournament at Northwood, No. 1 Holly Springs went undefeated and now is 7-0 against the rest of the top 15.

Chatham Central and Athens Drive fell out of the top 15, allowing Two Rivers 3A leader Corinth Holders and second-place Western Harnett to move in.
