N&O wrestling rankings: Holly Springs still No. 1

Nothing changes from last week in the News & Observer wrestling rankings. That won't be the same from here on out, as many of the top dual showdowns are saved for the end of the season.

With not much action last week thanks to exams for most schools, nothing has changed in The News & Observer wrestling rankings for the greater Triangle area. That won’t be the same from here on out, as many of the top dual showdowns are saved for the end of the season.

No. 1 Holly Springs can close out the Southwest Wake 4A Conference title by beating No. 10 Panther Creek this month. The Golden Hawks handed No. 2 Cary its only loss.

Sanderson and Millbrook, Nos. 3 and 7, lead the Cap Eight 4A and will meet in the season finale. No. 5 Riverside and No. 11 Northern Durham will also battle in the season finale for the PAC-6 4A, and No. 6 Orange and No. 13 Chapel Hill are expected to do the same in the Big Eight 3A.

No. 4 West Johnston, with a win already in hand over No. 9 Knightdale, controls the Greater Neuse River 4A and No. 14 Corinth Holders, which has defeated No. 15 Western Harnett, can say the same about the Two Rivers 3A.
