The Triangle is sending athletes from six different 1A schools – Raleigh Charter, Neuse Charter, Research Triangle, Granville Central, Louisburg and Princeton – to this weekend’s 1A track and field championships. Below are the team scores and local state qualifiers from the 1A Mideast regional last Saturday, which was hosted by Trask High in Rocky Point, N.C., and the 1A East regional hosted by Lejeune High.

Mideast team scores

Girls top 10: Rosewood 109.5; Heide Trask 100.5; Princeton 72; Whiteville 68; Raleigh Charter 45; Lakewood 45; James Kenan 41; Pender 32; Wallace-Rose Hill 31.5; North Duplin 31

Individual girls state qualifiers from the area

Granville Central: Jessica Morris, sophomore (100, 200); Alaris Estes, freshman (3200); the 4-by-100 relay; Alexis Bailey, junior (shot put).

Louisburg: Vanisha Wilshire, junior (discus, high jump, long jump, triple jump); Breasia Williams, sophomore (discus, shot put).

Princeton: Jasmine Bogle, junior (100, 200, high jump); Megan Evans, junior (3200); Amber Johnson, sophomore (3200); Jasmine Bombard, senior (long jump, triple jump); Nicole Evans, sophomore (pole vault); the 4-by-400 and 4-by-800 relay.

Neuse Charter: Sara Stephenson, senior (1600); Marika Samuelsson, freshman (400).

Raleigh Charter: Christy Witcher, sophomore (800, 1600); Ella Perrin, senior (800 1600); Elaine Hager, sophomore (long jump, 300 hurdles).

Individual boys state qualifiers from the area

Granville Central: Josh Morris, senior (100, 200); Bryron Tabron, senior (shot put)

Neuse Charter: Maurice Watson, freshman (200, 400).

Princeton: Jose Aguillon, junior (1600); Earl Gibson, freshman (long jump); Martin Bayles, junior (pole vault).

Raleigh Charter: Vidusha Rao, junior (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles); Chris O’Brien, senior (800, 1600, 3200); Timmy O’Neill, freshman (1600, 3200); the 4-by-400 relay.

Research Triangle: Madison Daniel, sophomore (1600, 3200); Michal Swepson, sophomore (1600, 3200).
