The top area teams in Friday’ N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A track and field championships were the 6th-place Raleigh Charter boys and 7th-place Louisburg girls. Only a handful of area runners finished top four to make all-state.

Louisburg junior Vanisha Wilshire was third in the high jump, second in the long jump and won the triple jump.

Research Triangle’s all-sophomore 4-by-800 relay team of Andy Klappenbach, Eric Young, Michal Swepson and Madison Daniel were third.

Raleigh Charter senior Chris O’Brien won the 1600 and was second in the boys 800 and 3200. The Phoenix also had junior Vidusha Rao finish fourth in the 110 boys hurdles.
