The GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational has set its field for the Dec. 26-30 basketball event at Broughton High.

The field features recruits from N.C. State, Wake Forest and North Carolina.

The boys will be split into two eight-team fields.

The teams:

Apex has back its 2008 all-tournament pick, 6-foot-7 Weston Murphy, plus senior guards Connor Belicic and Mike Fogg.

Cardinal Gibbons has two three-year starters: 6-6 Andrew Shafer and 6-4 Alberto Munoz.

Chapel Hill was led in scoring and rebounding by 6-4 Denzel Robinson.

Charlotte United Faith defeated Raleigh Word of God for the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A title. Guard Ian Miller (No. 48) is a Florida State recruit, and 7-2 sophomore Peter Jurkin is getting Atlantic Coast Conference recruiting attention.

Durham Riverside was 20-6 in 2009 and returns 6-9 senior Mike Mayer.

Enloe is led by 6-8, 220-pound senior power forward Melvin Tabb (No. 88 in the nation by Scout.com). He has committed to Wake Forest.

Forsyth Country Day is led by 5-11 sophomore point guard Tyler Lewis, who already has scholarship offers.

Garner is led by 6-8 forward Stephon Drane

Kinston is the preseason state 2-A favorite. Senior Reggie Bullock (No. 1) is committed to North Carolina.

Marietta (Ga.) Walton has N.C. State commitment Ryan Harrow (No. 25).

New York Rice, a traditional New York power, features 6-6, 220-pound forward Shane Southwell, ranked No. 100 nationally by Scout.com.

Millbrook has as balanced a team as coach Scott McInnes has ever had is led by 6-5 post player Donzell Hill.

Red Springs Flora MacDonald Academy is led by 6-8, 205-pound senior forward Luke Cothron (No. 57), who is being recruited nationally.

West Charlotte has prolific-scoring Wake Forest commitment J.T. Terrell (No. 75).

Wilson Greenfield has 6-6 shooting guard Brian Richardson, who has committed to South Carolina.

Word of God Academy is led by C.J. Leslie (No. 12). He can become the first player to ever be chosen to the GSK all-tournament team three times.

GSK girls field: The girls field has Broughton, South Central Pitt, Apex and Northern Durham.

GSK private schools: The GSK has six private schools among its 14 in-state schools, which is a reflection of the trend of many of the top players to choose private schools.

On the Scout.com top-20 list for North Carolina, 14 players are in private schools and will be eligible for the N.C. Independent School Athletic Association playoffs instead of the N.C. High School Athletic Association tournament.

Private school players are not eligible for the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Games.

Of the top 10 in North Carolina on the Scout.com list, all but two have committed.

Leslie of Word of God and Luke Cothron of Flora McDonald are the remaining unsigned players.

The top 10 are Kinston's 6-6 Reggie Bullock (North Carolina), Leslie; Charlotte United Faith's 6-2 Ian Miller (Florida State); Fayetteville Trinity's 6-9 Damontre Harris (South Carolina); Cothron; Concord Cannon's 6-6 Jarell Eddie (Virginia Tech); West Charlotte's 6-3. J.T. Terrell (Wake Forest); Enloe's 6-8 Melvin Tabb (Wake Forest); Wayne Country Day's Reco McCarter (Virginia Commonwealth); and Jamestown Ragsdale's 6-5 Jay Canty (Xavier).
