Danny Wilkins, the longtime boys and girls soccer coach at Millbrook, is relinquishing his coaching duties.
Wilkins has been at Millbrook since 1982 and guided the Wildcats to the girls N.C. High School Athletic Association title in 1989. He had started the program in 1982.
His boys team won the NCHSAA 4-A title in 1994. Two of the players on the '94 team, Casey Prince and John Massey, have been his assistant coaches.
"Danny has been a fixture here," Millbrook athletic director Scott McInnes said.
"He has been an exceptional coach for many years and has been a positive influence on the young men and women he has coached."
Wilkins, who has coached for 31 years, is expected to remain on the Millbrook faculty.

The game will be televised live by ESPN, with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Fowler was the Air Force's defensive most valuable player in 2006 (this year's MVP has not been announced) and was a two-time all-conference pick in the Mountain West Conference.
He ranked third in the MWC in tackles this season with 110, including five games with 10 or more.
The trip to Texas will be Fowler's second in a short period.
Air Force plays California in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth on New Year's Eve. That game also will be telecast on ESPN, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Fowler also has been selected to stay at Air Force during the 2008 season to help on the coaching staff.
Fowler (6 feet 2, 235 pounds) was a four-year letterman at Air Force and started for three years.
He will be a second lieutenant in the Air Force following his graduation from the academy in May.
ONLINE IMPROVEMENTS: The highschoolextra.newsobserver.com Web site has undergone several improvements, including minimum game requirements for the statistical leaders.
Setting a minimum game requirement eliminates some teams and individuals from the top 10. If results are not regularly reported, the school or individual is no longer listed.
Also new are the scoring leaders for each team.
Select a team and a sport from the highschoolextra page and scroll down past the schedule and roster to find the team's individual scoring leaders.
