Kamelio Johnson, an assistant football coach at Sanderson, is the new head football coach at Knightdale High School.

Johnson replaces Jeff Dunbar, who started the Knightdale program four years ago.

Dunbar resigned to return to school and move into school administration.

"Kamelio is a very good fit for us," Knightdale athletic director Guy Blough said.

"We think he will be able to come in and pick the program up right where it is and move it to the next level."

Knightdale was 2-9 in 2007.
