"I said, 'If you can run, we'll find you.' We did with this class. Amongst our skill [recruits], I'm not sure who'd win [a foot race]. ... They're all under 4.5 in the 40. ... There's a lot of guys out there who are good enough players and good enough students; they're just going to other places. Our job is getting them here. ... We're out hunting them and they're calling us."

2 stars - JACKSON ANDERSON * Line * 6-5 * 235 Frisco, Texas, offensive lineman, recorded 75 knockdown blocks at left tackle as a senior first-team all-district performer; likely long-snapper at Duke.

2 stars - KENNY ANUNIKE * Line * 6-5 * 220 As a senior, three-sport athlete out of Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy caught 17 passes for 216 yards with 3 TDs as all-state honorable mention tight end.

2 stars - PAUL ASACK * K * 6-2 * 200 Rated No. 14 kicker nationally by Scout.com; brother of current Duke QB Zack, son of former Duke QB Phil. Led Westwood (Mass.) Xaverian in tackles as senior.

2 stars - LEE BUTLER * Back * 5-11 * 170 Cutcliffe's coaching cronies told him the Anderson (S.C.) Westside cornerback was best player at Shrine Bowl, which features top HS stars from S.C and N.C.

2 stars - JORDON BYAS * Back * 6-2 * 190 Byas, of,Panama City (Fla.), is the Florida AAA state champion at 400 meters. Played both ways, with seven rushing TDs and two interceptions at safety as senior.

3 stars - MATT DANIELS * Back * 6-1 * 195 Nationally, No. 27 safety prospect (ESPN.com). As a senior he had 19 TDs, four INTs, two sacks and was also part of school's record-setting 4x100 relay team.

2 stars - TONY FOSTER * Back * 6-2 * 170 Burlington Williams star caught 68 passes for 1,091 yards and nine TDs as a senior all-conference pick.

2 stars - CURTIS HAZELTON * Line * 6-3 * 228 Roswell, Ga., defensive end made 82 tackles with five sacks as a senior team captain. Scout.com lists him as the 108th best defensive end in the nation.

3 stars - JAY HOLLINGSWORTH * Back * 5-11 * 185 Lee County three-sport star gained 2,569 rushing yards with 33 touchdowns in three varsity seasons.

2 stars - CONOR IRWIN * Line * 6-5 * 250 Four-year starter at Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic comes from Cutcliffe's old backyard; father played in the NFL.

4 stars - RANDEZ JAMES* * Back * 5-10 * 170 Chatham (Va.) Hargrave; enrolled at Duke in January and can participate in spring drills. Had 76 tackles as senior DB at Judson in San Antonio.

2 stars - PATRICK KURUNWUNE * Back * 5-10 * 200 Three-time all-district out of Austin (Texas) Anderson finished HS career with 2,491 yards and 30 TDs.

2 stars - TRENT MACKEY * Back * 5-10 * 210 Two-time LSWA 5A All-state inside LB out of Lafayette (La.) Carencro; had 369 tackles, 25 sacks, nine forced fumbles and five recoveries final three years.

3 stsars - BRIAN MOORE * Line * 6-3 * 275 Coconut Grove (Fla.) Everglades OG missed senior year with injury; 97 pancake blocks, 11 sacks as junior.

4 stars - SEAN RENFREE * QB * 6-3 * 205 Passed for 3,341 yards and 52 touchdowns for state champ Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame; Cutcliffe previously knew Renfree through Tennessee's camps.

3 stars - DONOVAN VARNER * Back * 5-9 * 162 ESPN.com says the Miami Gulliver CB/RB is the nation's No. 21 best "athlete" among football prospects.

2 stars - JOHNNY WILLIAMS * Back * 5-11 * 195 Two-time state champ at Leroy, Ala., had 1,694 receiving yards, 658 rushing yards and 22 TDs in his career.
