Coach Randy Ledford has established a perennial power at South View. The Tigers (13-0) are led by quarterback Ryan Everitte, who completed 9 of 17 passes for 154 yards with two touchdowns in last week's 34-23 win over Fayetteville Britt. Leesville (12-1) avenged its only loss of the year, stopping Wake Forest-Rolesville 21-6 in the 4-AA second round. Pride quarterback Thomas Wilson has passed for 2,979 yards. Leesville averages 37.5 points.
CHAPEL HILL AT SOUTHERN DURHAM
7:30 P.M., SPARTANS STADIUM, DURHAM Oct. 12: Southern Durham, 15-14
Neither team scored in the second half of their regular-season defensive struggle. The winning margin came, appropriately enough, on a safety. Chapel Hill (7-6) has won four straight. Southern Durham (9-4) lost its first three games but shared the PAC-Six 4-A title.
PITTSBORO NORTHWOOD AT SOUTHERN VANCE
7:30 P.M., RAIDERS STADIUM, HENDERSON 2006 playoffs: Southern Vance, 27-16
Southern Vance knocked off Northwood in 2006 en route to the state 2-AA championship game. Southern Vance (12-1), which topped Richlands 47-14 in the second round, is led by quarterback Jamere Pugh. Northwood (12-1) is led by Tobais Palmer, who has rushed for 1,460 yards this season.
JORDAN-MATTHEWS AT WEST MONTGOMERY
7:30 P.M., WARRIORS STADIUM, MOUNT GILEAD Sept. 28: West Montgomery, 28-14
Jordan-Matthews' Earl Womble ran for 178 yards and two touchdowns in last week's 31-21 win over Thomasville. Quarterback Derek Brown completed 9 of 16 passes for 114 yards with two scores. West Montgomery's Dominique Drake had 149 yards in a 41-7 victory over Hendersonville in the 1-AA West second round.
MILLBROOK AT NEW BERN
7:30 P.M., BEARS STADIUM, NEW BERN 2007: Did not play
Millbrook (10-3) avenged a season-opening 28-6 loss to Garner with a solid 49-35 second-round 4-AA victory. The Wildcats have averaged 57.7 points in their past three victories, led by quarterback Brian Kass. New Bern quarterback Brett Williams is elusive. He burned Athens Drive for 150 yards passing and 130 yards rushing in last week's 48-7 victory.
DURHAM HILLSIDE AT WILMINGTON HOGGARD
7:30 P.M., VIKING STADIUM, WILMINGTON 2007: Did not play
Hoggard (13-0) got 164 yards rushing and four touchdowns from Shawn Sidbury in last week's 52-23 4-A win over Fayetteville Pine Forest. Kicker Casey Barth is among the best in the country. Hillside knocked off four-time defending state champion Greenville Rose 42-30 as quarterback Corey Gattis passed for 254 yards. Gattis has 2,749 yards passing this year. Maryland recruit Gary Douglas has rushed for 1,973 yards for the Hornets.
EASTERN RANDOLPH AT OXFORD WEBB
7:30 P.M., WARRIORS STADIUM, OXFORD 2007: Did not play
Eastern Randolph quarterback Zebulon Milliner completed 13 of 17 passes for 249 yards with four scores in last week's 45-13 3-AA win over Western Guilford. Webb relied on the running of Antwan Thorpe (127 yards) and Rockie Lewis (142) in a 35-13 victory over Erwin Triton.
PENDER AT LOUISBURG
7:30 P.M., WARRIORS STADIUM, LOUISBURG 2007: Did not play
Louisburg (12-1) runs for 351 yards per game behind Hakeem Strickland (2,086 yards) and Greg Small (1,711). Pender's Anthony Blanks had 151 yards and three touchdowns in Friday's 22-0 1-AA win over Camden County.
