Recap: Tampa Bay vs. Anaheim

James Wisniewski scored the lone goal in regulation and netted the game-winner in the shootout, as the Anaheim Ducks edged the Tampa Bay Lightning, 2-1, at St. Pete Times Forum.

After each club scored once through the first two rounds, Brandon Bochenski was turned away by Anaheim goaltender Jonas Hiller. The Ducks prevailed when Wisniewski snapped a wrister through the pads of Antero Niittymaki.

Hiller stopped 30 shots for the Ducks, who improved to 2-3-0 on a season-high, six-game road trip that will end Monday against Florida.

Pens pop Capitals in OT

The Pittsburgh Penguins finally solved Simeon Varlamov, finally controlled Alex Ovechkin for most of a game and got the victory they needed to get back into their playoff series against the visiting Washington Capitals.

Kris Letang scored his first career playoff goal on a shot from the point after Sidney Crosby's faceoff win in overtime and the Penguins avoided going down three games to the Capitals, winning 3-2 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday night.

Letang's shot deflected off Capitals defenseman Shaone Morrisonn and past Varlamov, who had stopped nearly everything the Penguins threw at him.

Wisniewski scores winner in shootout

Defenseman James Wisniewski scored in regulation and added the winner in a shootout in the Anaheim Ducks' 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night.

Ryan Getzlaf also scored in the shootout for Anaheim, 2-3 on a six-game trip.

Martin St. Louis scored for Tampa Bay. The Lightning entered the game with a three-game winning streak, their longest since January 2009.

Matt Beleskey scored the game-winner late in the third period, as the Anaheim Ducks edged the St. Louis Blues, 4-2, at Honda Center.

James Wisniewski, Bobby Ryan, and Todd Marchant also scored for the Ducks, who have won two in a row following a three-game skid. Saku Koivu had two assists for Anaheim, which got 20 saves from Jonas Hiller.

Barret Jackman scored his first two goals of the year for the Blues, who have lost a season-high seven straight games. Chris Mason turned aside 25-of-28 shots for St. Louis, which has yet to win under interim head coach Davis Payne after firing Andy Murray on Saturday.

Calgary Flames (13-6-2) at Anaheim Ducks (7-11-3), 10 p.m.

Jarome Iginla's red-hot play as of late has helped the Calgary Flames stock up on some victories. Iginla will look to continue his torrid scoring tonight in a matchup with the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center.

Iginla has notched 11 goals over his last nine games, with the Flames winning six of those contests. He notched his first hat trick of the season on Saturday in a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings that helped Calgary bounce back from a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.

"Our attitude was good [Saturday] and we came here very positive," said Iginla after his ninth career hat trick. "Nice to have an afternoon game and not have to sit around and wait for it."
