Bobcats at Cavs, 7 p.m., SPSO:  When you're a 7-footer and reasonably athletic, jumping becomes a given. Not so much Monday for Charlotte Bobcats power forward Byron Mullens. It was the first time he played in six weeks, following a severe ankle sprain.

The first period belonged to Cam Ward. The second period belonged to the Staal brothers. The third period began with a power-play goal by Justin Faulk and ended with Ward making one final save. It also ended with the Canes 4-1 winners over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday at the Air Canada Centre.

After months of waiting, Roy Williams, whose Tar Heels tonight host Wake Forest at the Smith Center, finally saw the old Dexter Strickland on Saturday. Strickland, considered the Heels' best perimeter defender a season ago before his knee injury, helped limit the Hokies' Erick Green - the nation's leading scorer - to just 16 points.

Keith Gilmore, who has spent the past four seasons coaching at Illinois, is North Carolina’s new defensive line coach, UNC announced on Tuesday. Gilmore replaces former defensive line coach Deke Adams, who departed last month for the same job at South Carolina.
