The Charlotte Bobcats are hosting the Miami Heat on Saturday for the team's home opener at Time Warner Cable Arena – and they're planning a day of fanfare and festivities to mark the team's fifth season in the NBA.

“The anticipation for the opening night has been building since the day we hired Coach (Larry) Brown,” Bobcats President and COO Fred Whitfield said in a press release today. “From season ticket holders to our corporate partners like Time Warner Cable and Fox Sports Carolinas, everyone is excited about the direction we're heading as a basketball team and looking forward to watching this team play the game the right way.”

The first 10,000 fans through the turnstiles (doors open at 6 p.m.) will receive free T-shirts courtesy of Lowe's Home Improvement. Bobcats players will sign autographs before the game at Lowe's Home Court from 6-6:30.

In addition to fan-friendly festivities, the team will also be celebrating its first full season at the arena under the Time Warner Cable name.

Fewer than 1,000 seats remain for Saturday's game, with only scattered singles available in the 200 level. Remaining tickets may be purchased by phone at 1-888-4NBA-TIX, online at bobcats.com or at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office.
