Rookie Noah Vonleh posted a double-double Saturday in helping the Charlotte Hornets to an 82-79 victory over the New York Knicks in a Las Vegas Summer League quarterfinal.
Vonleh, the ninth overall pick, finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He was effective inside in the pick-and-roll and showed a left-handed jump hook that could be tough to stop if he makes that shot consistently.
The Hornets got 16 points from Justin Brownlee and 15 from rookie P.J. Hairston. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Knicks with 27 points.
The Hornets led by double-digits most of the second half, but then the game tightened to a six-point margin with about a minute left. Point guard Mickey McConnell hit two free throws late to clinch the victory.
The Knicks blew out the Hornets earlier in the week, leading by as much as 40 points.
The Hornets will play the Houston Rockets in the tournament semifinals Sunday at 6 p.m. Eastern. The Rockets beat the Atlanta Hawks, 78-71, on Saturday.
