Coach Steve Clifford said pre-game that Jefferson’s situation is still day-to-day; he hasn’t been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks in New York. The Bobcats are in a busy schedule right now – five games in eight nights. At least this gives Jefferson a three-day block of time to recover.• This game was one more reminder how unfortunate it was for the Bobcats that they didn’t win the draft lottery following the 7-59 season in 2011-12. Power forward Anthony Davis went to New Orleans and is looking like everything you’d hope for from a No. 1 overall pick.
It would be hard for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Davis’ Kentucky teammate and the No. 2 pick to Charlotte, to compete with Davis’ sky-high potential.• Hardly any crowd in New Orleans Arena for Bobcats-Pelicans. It’s tough to compete this time of year with the Big Easy’s love affair with the NFL’s Saints. Of course, the Benson family now owns both New Orleans franchises, with some shared departments.
