Matchup to Watch
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist vs. Carmelo Anthony: In his first game back from a broken hand, Kidd-Gilchrist will have the challenge of guarding one of the best scorers in the NBA. Anthony’s bullish strength for the position makes him tough to guard all over the court.
• The Knicks were pretty awful early this season, but they had won three in a row entering Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers. They’re certainly one of the threats in the East to keep the Bobcats out of the playoffs. The Knicks beat the Miami Heat during this run.
• As well as the Bobcats have played on the road this season – seven victories, compared to six all last season – they haven’t been as good as they need to be at home. The Knicks beat them in Charlotte to even the season series at 1-1.
• Getting to the foul line is essential to the Bobcats playing well this season; they’re 14-10 when taking more free throws than an opponent.
• The Knicks listedTyson Chandler
as questionable for the 76ers game with an upper-respiratory infection.
