Matchup to Watch
Kemba Walker vs. Tony Parker: Parker isn’t a most valuable player candidate like last season, but he’s still one of the most dangerous pick-and-roll point guards in the NBA. Walker is getting back to his old rhythm after missing two weeks with a sprained ankle.
Observations• The Spurs haven’t just won the last five games against the Bobcats, they have pounded this team. Margin of the last three meetings: 30, 30 and 24 points.
• The Spurs are coming off a 14-point loss in Brooklyn where they were severely shorthanded by injuries and rest issues (Tim Duncan).
Tap-ins• As part of their lead-up to the Hornets nickname change, the Bobcats are doing various “Buzz City” promotions. Saturday the first 10,000 fans through the door get a Dell Curry bobblehead.
• Parker will make his sixth All-Star appearance next weekend in New Orleans.
