Matchup to Watch
Josh McRoberts vs. Carmelo Anthony
Anthony is playing some of the best basketball of his career and leads the league in scoring (0.6 points ahead of Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant). He’s averaging 27.5 points and seven rebounds in two games against Charlotte this season. McRoberts mustered six points in 28 minutes against the Knicks in their March 29 meeting in Madison Square Garden.
Observations• The Bobcats trail the Magic by one game for next-to-last place in the Eastern Conference standings. Both teams have two games remaining to see who finishes with the NBA’s worst record.
• Marcus Camby, Rasheed Wallace, Amare Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler and Kenyon Martin are listed as either questionable or out for the game. Still a formidable quintet, that would have been quite the frontcourt in the mid-2000s.
• Byron Mullens is a game-time decision with left ankle soreness. He’s missed the past seven games with the injury.
Tap-ins• With 157 steals, Kemba Walker has tied the franchise record for most in a season. The mark was set by Brevin Knight in the 2005-06 season.
• With a win, the Knicks will have swept the Bobcats in a season for the first time in series history.
Did you know?
Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap was an assistant on George Karl’s staff with the Denver Nuggets when current Knicks Anthony, Camby and J.R. Smith played there.
