Patrice Bergeron's goal with 52 seconds left in regulation helped the Boston Bruins avoid a historic third straight shutout, but Michael Cammalleri scored in the shootout to give the visiting Montreal Canadiens a 2-1 victory on Thursday night.
Boston had not scored in 192 minutes, 6 seconds, dating to Vladimir Sobotka's goal at 7:02 of the third period against Edmonton on Saturday. The Bruins had not been shut out in three straight games since they scored just once over five games played Feb. 2-14, 1929.
In the 700th game between the archrivals, Carey Price stopped 42 Boston shots for his first win in more than a month.
Tim Thomas made 25 saves, giving up only Glen Metropolit's first-period goal and Cammalleri's in the shootout.

Blue Jackets 4, Thrashers 3: Raffi Torres scored two second-period goals as Columbus held off Atlanta. The Thrashers, coming off road wins at Ottawa and Montreal, lost for the fourth time in five home games.
The Blue Jackets took a 2-0 lead in the first period when Jakub Voracek and Derick Brassard each had a goal and an assist, and Columbus never trailed.
Mathieu Garon stopped 32 shots in his first start against the Thrashers since 2000.
Pavel Kubina's power-play goal 2:06 into the third period cut Atlanta's deficit to 4-3. Bryan Little and Tobias Enstrom scored in the second. Enstrom's goal was his first this season.
The Thrashers, 2-for-8 on the power play, outshot the Blue Jackets 35-21.
Red Wings 2, Sharks 1 (SO): Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg scored in the shootout as host Detroit snapped San Jose's six-game winning streak.
Zetterberg also had a goal in regulation, and Chris Osgood made 33 saves for Detroit.
Logan Couture scored his first NHL goal for San Jose. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 35 shots.
Zetterberg tied it at 1 at 5:38 of the third period. Couture opened the scoring with 5:19 left in the second.
Canucks 5, Wild 2: Tough guy Darcy Hordichuk and newly signed Matt Pettinger each scored his first goal of the season, forming an unlikely pair to lead short-handed Vancouver past host Minnesota.
Mason Raymond and Henrik Sedin also scored for the Canucks, who have won three in a row. Alex Burrows added an empty-net goal.
Kyle Brodziak scored twice for the Wild.
Vancouver's Andrew Raycroft made 28 saves in his fifth straight game in place of Roberto Luongo, who has been out with a rib injury.
Senators 3, Lightning 2 (OT): Jason Spezza scored a power-play goal 4:17 into overtime to lift Ottawa over visiting Tampa Bay.
Mike Fisher also scored for Ottawa, and Pascal Leclaire made 18 saves in the third meeting between the teams this season, the second in seven days.
Alex Tanguay and Steven Stamkos scored power-play goals for Tampa Bay. The Lightning are 1-1-1 on a four-game trip. Stamkos has 12 goals this season.

Avalanche 4, Coyotes 1: Milan Hejduk had two goals and an assist, and Peter Budaj - recovered from swine flu - stopped 28 shots for host Colorado in his first start of the season.

Bruins' Krejci diagnosed with swine flu: Boston Bruins center David Krejci is out indefinitely with the swine flu. General manager Peter Chiarelli announced Thursday that the team's medical staff confirmed a diagnosis of H1N1 for the 23-year-old.
