The Canes on Friday activated goaltender Anton Khudobin from injured reserve and assigned him to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) for a conditioning stint.

The team also placed defenseman Jay Harrison on injured reserve. Harrison suffered a concussion at Tampa Bay on Dec. 21.

Khudobin, 27, has played three games this season for the Hurricanes, going 2-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. He has not appeared in a game since suffering an ankle injury on Oct. 13 against Phoenix.
