The Canes on Saturday activated forward Riley Nash from injured reserve while reassigning forwards Zach Boychuk and Brett Sutter to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).

Nash has missed the past five games after sustaining a lower-body injury against the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 31.

Boychuk had a goal and assist Thursday in a 6-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sutter scored the game-winning goal Jan. 4 in a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.
