Aaron Palushaj's most recent recall from the Canes also proved to be a brief one.

The Canes on Wednesday reassigned the forward to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). Palushaj was recalled Monday from the Checkers and played for the Canes in the 3-0 road loss Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens, getting 9:34 of ice time.

Palushaj was first recalled by the Canes in early January, played against the Nashville Predators and then sent back to Charlotte. He has played in all 41 of the Checkers’ games this season and leads the team in assists (24) and points (39).
