Recap: Washington vs. Florida
Mike Knuble registered two goals and picked up two assists, as the Washington Capitals scored five times in the third period to defeat the Florida Panthers, 7-4, at Verizon Center.
Tomas Fleischmann also tallied twice, while Brooks Laich, Mathieu Perreault and Quintin Laing provided the rest of the scoring for the Capitals, who swept the home-and-home series after earning a 4-1 win Friday at the BankAtlantic Center. Nicklas Backstrom collected two assists, and Jose Theodore made 24 saves in the win.
Michael Frolik, Dmitry Kulikov, Michal Repik and Cory Stillman each had a goal for the Panthers, who have lost six of their last nine games. Scott Clemmensen was beaten seven times on 32 shots in defeat.

Capitals win 9th straight, 4-1 over Panthers
On a night when Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin stepped out of the spotlight, the Washington Capitals still had enough firepower to earn their ninth straight victory.
Mike Knuble and Nicklas Backstrom fueled the Capitals' vaunted attack with three points apiece, and Washington pulled away to a 4-1 victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday night.
Knuble had two goals and an assist, and Backstrom had a goal and two assists for the Capitals. Knuble has 11 goals in his last 12 games and four in his last three.

Alex Ovechkin recorded a career-best four assists along with five points, as Washington pounded Toronto, 6-1, at Verizon Center.
Mike Knuble scored twice while Eric Fehr, Tomas Fleischmann and Tom Poti also tallied for the Capitals, who won their fifth game in six.
Jose Theodore stopped 28-of-29 shots for the win.

Recap: Colorado vs. Washington
Jose Theodore was strong with 27 saves and Tomas Fleischmann scored two goals, as the Washington Capitals defeated the Colorado Avalanche, 6-1, at Pepsi Center.
David Steckel, Mike Knuble, Matt Bradley and Nicklas Backstrom also scored for Washington, which has won eight of its last 10 games and maintained its position as the overall standings leader in the NHL with 48 points.
This was Theodore's first game in Denver against his former team. The goaltender played in parts of three seasons with the Avalanche before he signed with Washington as a free agent prior to the 2008-09 season.

Recap: Atlanta vs. Washington
Mike Knuble and Alexander Semin each scored two goals, and Washington continued its dominance in the Southeast Division with a 8-1 drubbing of Atlanta at Philips Arena.
Nicklas Backstrom and David Steckel also scored for the Caps, while Jeff Schultz had two assists and a plus-five rating in Washington's ninth win out of 10 division contests.
Michal Neuvirth made 38 stops in the victory for the Capitals, who got at least one point from 16 different skaters.
